Noëlle lives by the mantra “ Be yourself: everyone else is already taken” by Oscar Wilde.

Noëlle van Thiel's journey is a testament to her diverse talents and global experiences. Beginning her career as a barrister in family and criminal law in her native Netherlands, she later embarked on a remarkable adventure, residing in Belgium, Switzerland, Dubai, and Thailand.

Upon her arrival in Dubai in 2007, she seized the opportunity to reinvent herself, transitioning into the world of fashion design. Her creativity quickly gained recognition, culminating in a win of Dubai Fashion Week's Emerging Talent competition in 2009. This marked the inception of her fashion brand, Noelle Adam, specializing in resort wear, including maxi dresses, bikinis, and cocktail attire.

The acclaim continued as UK-based online fashion retailer ASOS.com acquired her entire collection in 2009. However, her entrepreneurial spirit led her to part ways with her brand upon relocating to New Zealand in 2011. Despite this, her passion for fashion persisted, and in recent years, she has delved into the realm of artistry, particularly in painting—both on traditional canvases and unconventional mediums like blazers and sneakers.

Born and raised in the Netherlands, Noëlle now calls Auckland home, where her boundless creativity continues to flourish.

Art Style

Noëlle mainly paints with acrylics and only paints abstracts. Noëlle wants to achieve and create “candy for the eye” with her vivid colours and different techniques.

She often uses gold and silver to provoke a sense of luxury and she loves playing around with hot pink and fluorescent colours which are a delight to look at and splash of the canvas.

Art for Noëlle is about fun and joy and an expression of her vibrant personality. She loves wearing her bright hot pink sneakers with her self painted blazer, as fashion is still in her bones and fashion for her is the ultimate expression of art. She states: “ we are all a walking canvas every day, when we express ourselves through our fashion”.
